Equipment and subscriptions are separate purchases, which we’ll agree on with you in advance.

Hourly help after your first visit

$80/hour. Visits are booked for a minimum of one hour.

Additional time is $20 per 15 minutes after a full hour. I’ll check with you before extending the visit.

Payment & the included follow-up call

Payment

You can pay at the end of your visit, with no routine booking deposit. We’ll confirm who’s paying beforehand and provide a receipt afterward.

You can pay by check or card. A family member can arrange payment with your agreement.

A quick question afterward?

If you have a question about the work or instructions from our visit, one scheduled clarification call of up to 10 minutes is included within 7 days of that visit. For new tasks or further troubleshooting, we’ll agree on a paid appointment and its price first.

Here’s how a visit works.

  1. First, we talk
    it through.

We’ll talk about what’s giving you trouble, what you’d like to accomplish, and what you’d prefer to learn or have me handle.

  2. We’ll agree
    on a visit.

We’ll confirm the tasks, location, and price before scheduling, so you know what to expect.

  3. We’ll work through
    your list.

I’ll explain as much as you’d like along the way. When useful, I’ll leave written steps you can refer to later.

My real family and in-laws, depicted here with no tech problems (at the moment).

Meet the son-in-law.

“Son-in-Law Industries” started as a family joke about the tech help I give my in-laws. Son-in-Law grew out of that idea: one person you can call when something isn’t working or you need a hand figuring it out.

Helping seniors with their digital snags combines two things that I really love: cutting edge technology, and using what I have learned to enrich the lives of others. My brother-in-law once described me as the "grease" in the machinery of our family, and I really like that. Where is the friction in your life, and how can I help?

I’ll explain what I’m doing, ask before making changes, and respect your choices about involving family members. Bring your questions. There’s no need to have all the right words.

I welcome clients and families of all backgrounds and family structures.

Tech help for your parent.
One less thing to coordinate.

When a phone call turns into troubleshooting, it can be hard to see what’s happening from the other end. I can visit your parent at home to help with their devices and the questions on their list.

You can start the conversation from wherever you live. We’ll involve your parent in deciding what help they want.

Who will be coming to their home?

You’ll be working with me, Nate. I have more than 20 years of technology experience and am an Air Force Veteran. References and a background check are available upon request, before you decide to book.

Will my parent have a say?

Yes. A visit happens with their agreement, and their priorities guide the work. I explain proposed changes and ask before making them. They decide how they’d like you involved.

Can I arrange and pay for a visit?

Yes, with your parent’s agreement. Share the problem and their city or ZIP code. We’ll confirm the tasks, location, price, and who’s paying before scheduling. You can help arrange the visit even if you live out of town.

What about privacy and follow-up?

You don’t need to send passwords or private account details to get started. When useful, I’ll leave written instructions for your parent. A scheduled clarification call of up to 10 minutes is included within 7 days of the visit; new tasks are agreed separately.

A few good
questions.

Where do you offer in-home tech help?

I’m based in Davis, California, and offer in-home tech help in Yolo, Sacramento, Solano, and Placer counties. Share your city or ZIP code and we’ll confirm availability for your address before scheduling.

Do I need to know what the problem is?

Not at all. Just tell me what you’re trying to do and what’s happening. We can figure out where to start together.

Can you teach me, or just take care of a task?

Either is fine. I can explain the steps, handle the task, or do a bit of both. When useful, I’ll leave written notes you can refer to later.

Can I ask for references or a background check?

Yes. References and a background check are available upon request. You’re welcome to ask about either during our introductory conversation, before deciding to book a visit.

What if I need a specialist?

I’ll let you know when something is outside my scope, and I can help you identify the kind of professional you need.
